Kaduna North Lawmaker Announces Major Medical Supply Partnership for Local PHCs, Inside Arewa Media report.
Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, has unveiled a new healthcare initiative to equip all Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the area with essential medical supplies – including syringes, malaria drugs, and typhoid medication.
The lawmaker made the announcement on April 6, 2026, revealing a partnership with Medical Plastics Ltd, a company run by his childhood friend, Amir Baba-Kusa. Under the deal, syringes will be supplied to every PHC across Kaduna North, which currently has 12 wards with a few additional PHCs added during the tenure of former local government chairman, Mukhtar Baloni, whom El-Rufai praised for his “brilliant stewardship.”
Many of these health centres were originally built under the leadership of his father, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (former governor of Kaduna State), according to the statement.
Beyond syringes, the PHCs will also receive regular supplies of medication for common illnesses such as typhoid and malaria.
Hon. Bello El-Rufai, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Banking Regulations, thanked Amir Baba-Kusa and Medical Plastics Ltd for stepping in. He used the opportunity to urge the federal government to give more support to indigenous companies in critical sectors like healthcare.
“On behalf of Kaduna North, I would like to thank Amir and urge the federal government to support indigenous companies in critical sectors like the health industry,” the lawmaker said.
The move has been welcomed by local health workers who have long complained about shortages of basic supplies in primary health centres across the constituency. With this partnership, Kaduna North residents can expect better access to safe injections and essential medicines in the coming weeks.
