The Supreme Court on Friday affirmed the election of Bala Mohammed as the Governor of Bauchi State.
The Court of Appeal had previously affirmed Governor Mohammed’s victory in the March 18 governorship election. Sadique Abubakar, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had filed an appeal challenging the election petition tribunal’s judgment upholding Mohammed’s victory. The appellant’s plea included a request to nullify the election, alleging improper filling of forms and booklets, but the appeal court ruled that the allegation lacked sufficient evidence.
