The office of the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State has made a formal request to the office of the Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission in Kano State, to investigation alleged misappropriation of land and houses belonging to the Jigawa State government by the administration of the former Kano State government, Abdullahi Ganduje.
Signed by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Sankara, the request raised concerns over the status of a specific parcel of land, identified as plot number 133, part of TP/UDB/173 at Farm Center.
Alongside the land, the letter also highlighted the need to investigate the status of several houses allocated to Jigawa State during an assets-sharing process between sister states on May 5, 1993.
The state’s legal action is the latest in a series of allegations against the former governor rumoured to emerge as the next National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In the same vein, the former National Vice Chairman for North-West, Mallam Salihu Lukman had expressed his displeasure via a letter to the Progressive Governors’ Forum over its alleged choice of ex-governor Ganduje.
“I want to strongly appeal to Your Excellency, as the PGF Chairman, to kindly return PGF to its conventional role of acting as the conscience of the party by ensuring that the party always takes the right decisions, which will protect the interest of every member, every region and all interest,” the letter had read.
A High Court had to step in, halting the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission’s investigation into Ganduje over the alleged misappropriation of N100 billion in local government funds.
