The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap, has expressed worries over the state of the border stations in Kebbi State.

The NIS CG during her assessment visit to some border stations at Kamba, Lolo and Dole Kaina in Kebbi State at the weekend said from what she has seen, there is a lot of work to be done on the borders for the service to secure them as directed by the president.

She said, “Kebbi is strategic because it borders two countries on land and on marine. We came to see the state of the borders, how our officers are doing and the challenges.

“We have been to Dole Kaina, Kamba and Lolo borders. The state of the borders is worrisome. We need to do something about them. I’m calling on Mr President that we need a lot to do on our borders.”

Nandap said she has met with the state governor, Emir of Gwandu and the District Head of Kamba to solicit their cooperation and support in respect of the NIS officers on ground in the state and the border communities and NIS Regional Training Academy.

“We have the e-border project going on, which is a solution to who comes in and who goes out of our borders,with a control point in Abuja. We will be deploying our FOB and customised vehicles to the various borders,” she said.
