Shops and properties worth Hundreds of Millions of Naira have been reportedly destroyed by outbreak of fire in Kabba Central Market early hours of Monday.
It was gathered that the destructive fire which started at about 5am on Monday morning left traders and members of the community in shock and sorrow as the flames consumed numerous businesses and sources of livelihood.
An eye witness said sympathizers rushed to the scene to combat the inferno and prevent further spread but however said their efforts, could to yield any serious result because of the intensity of the raging fire.
The Eye witnesses stated further that shop owners were helpless as they watched their investments succumb to the flames. The market, known for its diverse array of goods, from fresh produce to textiles and electronics, now stands in ruins.
The economic impact of this disaster is staggering, with many small businesses facing financial ruin.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, with authorities working to determine whether it was a result of electrical faults, negligence, or any other contributing factors.
Meanwhile members of the community were faulted the absence of fire fighting equipments that would have helpful in putting out the flame.
