The Nigerian government has launched the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, aiming to ease the impact of fuel subsidy removal and transform the country’s transportation sector. The initiative plans to introduce over 11,000 new CNG-enabled vehicles and 55,000 CNG conversion kits for existing gasoline-dependent vehicles.

This move is seen as a significant step toward achieving sustainable, affordable, and eco-friendly energy in Nigeria, providing an alternative fuel source. Additionally, the government’s focus on assembling CNG-enabled vehicles within the country is expected to boost economic growth and enhance the nation’s automotive manufacturing capabilities.
