Following the drone attack on the people of Tudun-Biri Community in Kaduna State, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Diocese, Matthew Ndagoso, has visited Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital to sympathise with the victims, just as the 109 senators pledged their December salaries of over N100 million to the community.
Ndagoso, while sympathising with the victim in the hospital, said: “This bombing has led many people into distress and in keeping with corporal works of mercy as Catholics, we decided to come and condole with the victims and thank the management of Barau Dikko for the attention given them, as most of the people are recovering quickly.”
The bishop, who said the people that lost loved ones, dependants and definitely need succour from sympathisers, added: “Our country is already at war with bandits,” and that the church donated an unspecified sum to the victims.
Meanwhile, all the senators in the National Assembly have donated N109 million of their December salaries to the victims.
Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, announced this at the Kaduna Government House, when he led a high-powered delegation of the Senate to the state, yesterday.
The senators were received by Governor Uba Sani.
Barau, in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, noted that the money would be sent to the governor for onward delivery to the victims.
The governor thanked the senators for the donation.
