Zamfara State Assistant Police Commissioner, 6 Family Members Abducted in Kaduna

An Assistant Commissioner of police identified as ACP Emmanuel, serving in Gusau, Zamfara State has been abducted while traveling with members of his family along the Birnin-Gwari –Funtua road on Wednesday.

The police boss and three members of his family were said to be travelling in a Hi-lux van when they ran into the gunmen who forced their vehicle to stop and whisked them away in another vehicle.
Another police officer,  was also abducted with three others while travelling in a Sharon bus to Birnin Gwari on Wednesday.
A source said immediately the police patrolling the route got the information that a some persons travelling in a Sharon bus had been abducted they raised an alarm as one of them had during a stopover at a police post identified himself as their colleague and inquired about one of them who he said is his friend but was told  had been transferred to Maiduguri.
Another source in Birnin-Gwari village that preferred not to be named said a popular business man from Birnin Gwari known as Danhaza and his driver were also abducted three days earlier while travelling to Kaduna from Birnin Gwari.
He said the two men were travelling in a golf car along Birnin Gwair –Kaduna road when they were blocked by the gunmen who led them into the bush.
The Kaduna State police public relations officer did not pick his call several time our correspondent tried to reach him.
