Speech delivered by His Excellency Sen. Uba Sani the Executive Governor of kaduna state, Represented by Hon. Rabi Salisu Hajia, Commissioner Ministry of Human Services and Social Development Kaduna State, on the occasion of International Day of Peace and unveiling of Kaduna State Women Peace and Security Action Plan (KAD-SAP WPS11)and Kaduna State Youth Peace and Security Action Plan (KAD-SAP YPS), held on 21st September,2024 at Kaduna State University 1000 Seater Hall, Tafawa Balewa Way, Kaduna.

Today we are gathered to celebrate a fundamental human aspiration for peace on this International Day of Peace, we reaffirm our commitment to harmony, understanding, and cooperation in our society.
As we strive for peace, we recognize the resilience of humanity in the face of conflict and inequality, the power of diversity and shared aspirations for a better world and the importance of empathy, compassion, and inclusive dialogue.
Let us celebrate our differences and promote cultural understanding, support peace builders, activists, and leaders working towards reconciliatory processes, while advocating for policies that prioritize peace, justice, and human rights.
Today, let us pledge to uphold tolerance, cooperation, engage in acts of kindness and service to humanity which will embrace peace as a guiding principle in our daily lives.
Today as we gather to celebrate this momentous occasion on behalf of our amiable Governor, Senator Uba Sani, I unveil the Women Peace and Security Action Plan 2 and Youth Peace and Security Action Plan documents in Kaduna State state, which is attributed to the commitment of government towards achieving sustainable peace building process. In addition inform you all that after the unveiling, the actual Launch of the two documents will be done at a later date.
This marks a significant step forward in our collective pursuit for peace, justice, and equality. As we commemorate the International Peace Day, we honor the tireless efforts of individuals and organizations dedicated to promoting peace and security in our communities.
The development of Early Warning and Early Response System( EWER) in Kaduna State is a testimony of the power of our strong collaboration and innovation in preventing conflict and promoting peace in our society. This system has successfully resolved numerous cases and has empowered communities to participate in peace building process and take active role in maintaining peace and security at all levels of the response.
As we unveil the Women Peace and Security and Youth Peace and Security Action Plans today, the current administration recognize the critical role the women and youth play in building and sustaining peaceful co- existence and unity of purpose.
We acknowledge the challenges or barriers faced by women and girls in conflict situations and reaffirm our commitment towards protecting their rights and dignity.
Let us continue to work together to craft a world where peace is not just a dream but a vibrant reality to build a society where our values , diversity and social cohesion promotes inclusion, and foster a culture of sustainable peace, growth and development. Let’s continue to unite in our quest for peace and empowering humanity to thrive in order to ensure our women and girls are at the forefront of our efforts to build a more just and peaceful world.
I congratulate everyone involved in this initiative and look forward to our continued collaboration and partnership in promoting peace and security in Kaduna State.
