UNICEF Nigeria Twitter handle shared this touching story of this young girl from Borno, who witnessed the killing of her father and teacher by Boko Haram terrorists:
“Together with our parents, my five siblings and I were one happy family until Boko Haram attacked and overthrew our town,” says this 8-year-old girl, tears welling up in her eyes.
After her father was killed and her teacher slaughtered in front of her, she fled Gwoza in Borno state with the rest of her family to safety.
They are now in Hong, Adamawa state where she is able to carry on with her education in a UNICEF-supported school. Many children are displaced in the North East due to the activities of Boko Haram Terrorists.
