Bauchi State Distributes Free Malaria Kits and Drugs to Health Facilities
The Bauchi state government through its agency BACATMA with support from the World Bank’s Saving One Million Lives (SOML) project yesterday commenced phase 5, round 1 distribution of anti-malaria drugs, mosquito nets and testing kits, to 100 primary health facilities in the state (at 5 per LGA).
The drugs, nets and kits are to be used free for all patients with pregnant mothers and children given priority status.
The exact quantity distributed in this September/October phase are:
27,000 doses of ACT drugs
10,000 Malaria rapid diagnostic test kits
20,000 Long lasting insecticide treated nets
Gov. M.A. Abubakar will continue to give priority to the health sector, as evident in the last two budget allocation, as we continue to build the Bauchi of our dreams.
