The Bauchi State House of Assembly has confirmed 21 commissioner nominees submitted to it by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed , after two weeks of screening.

The governor has on July 9 dissolved the State Executive Council and other notable political appointees, including the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), the Chief of Staff (CoS) Government House, and all Special Advisers with the exception of four Special Advisers.

The confirmation was made Friday during the plenary after the nominees were screened by the House.

The nominees screened and confirmed by the House include, Alkaleri: Abdulkadir Ibrahim; Bauchi: Garba Dahiru and Nuruddeen Abdulhamid; Bogoro: Jidauna Tula Mbami; Dambam: Ahmed Aliyu Jalam and Darazo: Dayyabu Chiroma.

Also screened and confirmed were: Dass: Maryam Garba Bagel; Ganjuwa: Adamu Manu Soro; Gamawa: Umar Babayo Kesa; Giade: Asma’u Ahmed; Jama’are: Usman Abdulkadir Middibo and Itas – Gadau: Hajara Jibrin Gidado

Others are: Katagum: Sama’ila Dahuwa Kaila; Kirfi: Hajiya Sa’adatu Bello Kirfi; Misau: Aminu Hammayo; Ningi: Alhaji Yakubu Barau: Shira: Hamisu Muazu Shira; Tafawa Balewa: Abubakar Abdulhamid Bununu; Toro: Aliyu Usman Tilde; Warji: Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki and Zaki: Hon. Abdullahi T Musa.

Speaking during the screening exercise, the Speaker, Abubakar Y Suleiman said that the nominees were confirmed based on their experience and track records.

While commending the governor for choosing credible people that would serve the state, the speaker charged the commissioner nominees to be fair and just when finally inaugurated as members of the State Executive Council.
