As Independent National Electoral Comission INEC extends registration of voters by two weeks, INEC Commissioner in Nasarawa, Dr Uthman Abdulrahaman has raised an alarm over multiple registration of voters in three local government in the state.
The commission boss also added that it has received complaints fro. Doma, Karu and Lafia local government areas of the state over irregularities in the conduct of voters in the state According to him, over one hundred and sixty five thousand seven hundred and sixty three permanent voter’s cards are yet to be collected in Nasarawa State .
He explained that the figure is out of the three hundred and ten thousand, two hundred and twenty five persons that registered in the on going exercise.
The Commissioner who disclosed this Abdulrahaman who disclosed this while exchanging views with newsmen in Lafia on the update of the Continuous Voters Registration in the state said the issue of multiple registration and non collections of voters cards were becoming an issue of concerned to the commission. He called on illegible voters in the state to take advantage of the extension of the exercise to come out and register.
The INEC Commissioner said more registration centres have been created across the 13 local governments in state to enable more people to register.
