The Inspector General of Police Taskforce known as the Intelligence Response Team (IRT), apprehended one Bello Audu Aka Yellow, purportedly one of the most wanted commander of kidnappers terrorising Abuja-Kaduna-Kano highway.
Commander of the IRT, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, disclosed this in a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday.
According to the post, the 40-year-old ringleader confessed to over 50 kidnappings and killings of many innocent Nigerians.
In a video clip attached to the post, Yellow on interrogation disclosed he had participated in several kidnappings, cattle rustlings and killings.
His words: “I’m married. I have two wives and five children. I’m from Kajuru, Kaduna State, but I ran to Niger State. I stay in Kara now.
“I am into kidnapping. I was involved in over 50 kidnapping cases,” he added.
Yellow also revealed that he received different huge sums as ransom from his victims.
“We received N3 million on six occasions, N10 million, N16 million, N17 million, N19 million, N20 million,” he recalls.
“We kidnap them on Abuja-Kaduna highway,
“We used AK 47 rifles to ran our operations,
“We bought the rifles N650,000-N700,000 per rifle and the bullets for N1000 per bullet.”
The suspect also confessed to killing his victims when their family failed to cooperate or pay the exact amount of ransom demanded.
Speaking on his involvement in cattle rustling, Yellow said he has over a hundred thousand cattle in his possession gotten from rustling activities.
