In what appears to be a new trend of electioneering campaign slogan adopted by the teeming supporters of Kano state governor Abdullahi Ganduje, in Kano which reads “Baba ko kaci Dollar, sai kayi takwas” literary meansas“Baba despite you consumed Dollars, you must stay for eight years”.
Reports indicate that the new campaign mantra adopted by some Ganduje political supporters usually repeatedly chanted during political rallies or used as a sort of sarcasm to ridiculing political antagonists.
Hence, the new slogan is now becoming signature greetings to APC members in Kano as they meet each other.
According to young APC supporter in Kano, who craved for anonymity to preserved his identity says” even though the new slogan is not officially recognised, but most of the Ganduje fans, mainly youngsters, adopts and trumpeted the slogan as a message to his foes that their improvised political weapons to dampen the spirits of “Khadimul Islam” re-election bid have not prospered.”
“Previously, we are very not happy to identified with our governor with such doctored bribe-taking videos, but as the time goes by, the truth finally revealed itself, the videos were outrightly mischievous and malicious” as he claimed.
Some months back, the alleged bribe-taking videos which depicted unmistakable features of governor Ganduje receiving well-packed, minted US Dollars from the hands of an anonymous person.
The videos which goes viral courtesy of Daily Nigerian, an online newspaper has sparked widespread uproar in Kano and the nation at large.
The scandal was regarded by many as a setback to the embroiled incumbent Kano governor, which sees it as potentially damaging his re-election bid and consequently his entire political career.
It can be recall that, Kano state house of assembly had on 15th October,2018 constituted seven-man ad-hoc committee chaired by the majority leader, Bappa Babba Dan-Agundi to probed the allegation levelled against Ganduje.
The move which was halted by the Kano state higher Court, in petition filed by a group of lawyers, which ruled out that state legislative house doesn’t have jurisdiction to probe the matter.
It is was reportedly said, the aforementioned developments had gingered the morale of the teeming governor Ganduje’s supporters in Kano which makes them adopts and chanted the “Baba ko kaci Dollar, Sai kayi takwas” mantra.
