Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency has presented awards to eighteen staff in recognition of their accountable, Transparent and excellent performance in their duty post, for the year 2017. The agency has also awarded six best performing health facilities, three local government councils and Nigeria Health State Health Investment Project for their contribution to effective primary healthcare service in the state.
The State Chairman of the Agency, Admau Ibrahim Gamawa said the move was to motivate the awardees to rededicate themselves in the discharge of their assigned responsibilities.
Mr. Gamawa said it would be out of place to sanction some erring staff and local councils without recognizing excellence in favour of those who deserve it.
The state Deputy Governor, Architect Audu Sule Katagum restated state government’s commitment towards improving health care sector and welfare of staff for improved service delivery.
Architect Sule Katagum said as part of the administration’s effort towards improving the sector the government allocated sixteen percent of the 2018 budget to health care services.
The State Commissioner for Health Dr. Zuwaira Ibrahim Hassan commended the awardees for their dedication to duty and called on others to emulate.
One of the awardees, Yalwaji Muhammad from Gumai Health Facility in Zaki local council expressed appreciation for the award and promised to do more for improved health care delivery in the state and the country at large.
