How we met is a short story series that is based on a true life events that happened to our readers and wish to share with us.
We will be sharing them with you to encourage and also learn one or two things from others experiences.
How I Met Abdulrahman…
We met at my mum’s work place after my Junior School Certificate Examination(JSCE), it was a holiday period.
As usual mum’s office is always busy with clients going in and out conducting their respective jobs, I greeted everyone in the office but Abdulrahman’s dad said: “Wow! Gaskiya amaryar Abdulrahman ta girma” and I smiled and went out. (I don’t know who Abdulrahman)
Let me take you 15min back, on my way in, I met a guy and I opened the door for him bai ce ko “thank you” ba, so I dragged him back and hissed 😂😂😂😂😂 and said to him “Baka da kunya koh”? And he was shocked 😂😂😂 to be honest I didn’t even know he was Abdulrahman when the door encounter happened 😂😂😂.
That’s how our love story began: my first love story was my favorite and is still my favorite love story. It was pure and patient. I once had an asthma attack in the morning, I kid you not Abdulrahman flew from London immediately he heard about it and was in Nigeria around 7pm, just like in a Hollywood movie, I slept and woke up to him beside me I thought I was dreaming.
The first thing that I said to him after I saw him was “meh kake yi a nan”? And he was like “how can I function when a part of my heart is down” at that instance, I just can’t defined what is going on in my head but all I know is am happy and not just happy but real happy seeing him smiling at me and the cool smell of his perfumes is all over my head.
We talked all day and he helped, encourage me a lot to take my medication. He stayed with me all day, literally he only go to sleep at home up to the time I recover fully and he went back to London. My sister and friends will be saying “Daman Rashin Lafiyan rashin Ganin Abdulrahman ne”.
When he calls sometimes he will say “is this Mrs Abdulrahman”? And I’ll be like “No” and he will add with “oh no I’m sorry can I speak to Mrs. Abdulrahman please” 😂😂 and I’ll say yes sure then I’ll do baby voice and say “Mrs Abdulrahman” here he’ll be like, light of my soul how are you? And whenever he did that It makes me melt ehn 😂😂😂😂
I love Abdulrahman dearly and because of this he will forever remain in my heart ♥, He teaches me Quran through the phone whenever he’s not around, Like idan ban mai karatu ba he’ll be upset like real 😂 upset fa not that forming type na shagwaba a soyayya.
We had Quran challenges like random questions and the winner gets something but Abdulrahman lets me win 😂😂😂 most of the time.
Raka’atani Fajr was our way of waking each other up, then we will recite the Quran and say our prayers.
We had our challenges too like every other couples, our first major fight😂😂😂. It wasn’t serious but I blew it out of proportion. This girl called me and was telling me she has a thing with him. Ni nasan Abdulrahman and he already told me about her a long time ago. So it wasn’t news but I got upset. He was trying to explain and I blocked him out. He got upset too. He was traveling the next day I knew but I didn’t call. He didn’t either so I called him and started crying telling him he’s going to meet her and blah blah blah Ashe he cancelled his flight until the next day and was on his way to my house 😂😂 like 30 mins after the call which he was just quiet and made me more upset kawai yazo gida 😂😂 He came and unblocked her in front of me, called her and told her in front of me he has a wife, he’s not looking for another then blocked her again and kept telling me how much he loves me and he wouldn’t hurt me like that 😂😂😂😂 and that was it. I was determined to marry him 😂😂😂😂 silly yeah? But it made me feel protected
Let me tell you guys one funny thing about us, am sure many of here are imagining the kind of pet names we give ourselves right? Okay relax, I call Abdulrahman ‘Goat 🐐’ and he call me ‘tantabara’ weird right? That’s our love story for you.
We live in different continent, Abdulrahman lives in Europe and I live in America but he always find time to visit me, so distance is not a thing for us because many relationships ends because of distance but alhamdulillah this is not a thing for us.
Every Ramadan we make dua lists separately. It was his idea. He said it would help keep us on track and it did a 💯. But the great part is during the last 10 days we would exchange lists he thought it would make us pray for each other more and oh well it did. I still make Ramadan dua lists
In conclusion, he’s late now It would be 4 years and counting☺. I loved him, I love him and would always love him. It wasn’t a happy ending but I was happy with him and I’m thankful for it.
Please for Allah sake, include Him in your prayers during this Ramadan and anytime you come across our story. I feel serious joy In my heart when he’s prayed for wallah it makes me really happy ☺😃 For some reason 😂😂 I always do.
