Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has said competency tests will be conducted for secondary school teachers.
El-Rufai, who spoke on his twitter handle, @GovKaduna, said the state would restore the integrity of the profession.
He hinted that teachers in the urban areas will earn 27.5 per cent higher than an average civil servant, with those in the rural areas to earn 32.5 per cent higher than their civil service colleagues.
He said: “We are doing our best to restore the integrity of the teaching profession. We have finished tests for primary school teachers and we will soon administer competency tests for secondary school teachers.”
