Coalition of Benue Youths has called on a former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, to consider contesting for the presidential ticket of the PDP ahead of the 2019 general polls.
Addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Coordinator of the coalition, Comrade Ejeke Shagari, said Bafarawa would make a better president by stabilising the nation and delivering dividends of democracy to the people if given the mandate.
“The current state of the country is definitely not what Nigerians voted and wished for. We are clamouring for a decisive and innovative leadership that will urgently change the negative narrative.
“This is indeed a very worrisome time for Nigeria. There is widespread discontent, anger, hunger, criminality and tension in the country. All people of good conscience should be disturbed by the direction the country is headed to.
“We are calling on you (Bafarawa) to heed our clarion call and enter the contest for the presidency of our great country come 2019,” the group said.
