Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has sworn-in forty four newly elected local government chairmen in the state with a pledge to work harder and closer with the local government councils.

on February 11, 2018 stated that :
His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR today presided over the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected local government chairmen and their councillors from the 44 local governments across the state.
The event, which is taking place after the conclusion of the local government elections that took place on Saturday February 10 across the state, and was won by the APC with overwhelming victory, which saw the APC winning all the 44 chairmen and all the 484 councillors, defeating other parties to emerge victorious.
The elections which were said to be free, fair and violence free according to independent observers have indeed opened a new chapter, in the politics of Kano State, and indeed under the able leadership of Governor Ganduje who has consolidated the strength of the party in the state.
The event was well attended by the Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly Rt Hon Abdullahi Yusuf Atah, Secretary to the state government Alhaji Usman Alhaji, Sen Kabiru Gaya, Sen Barau Jibrin, members of house of reps, state assembly membets, commissioners, advisers and other government officials.
