Bauchi State Government, through the Special Schools Management Board, on Thursday, 4th January 2018, rewarded some teachers across all schools under the management of the Board.
The incentives were also extended to Principals and Headmasters in all 8 model secondary and primary schools in the State.
The incentives, which included 7 special promotions, 3 written commendations, 1 Refrigerator to each principal or head master, 1 motorcycle to the best performing principal (of Government College, Azare), and about 12 special mentions, were handed over by the state Deputy Governor, Nuhu Gidado, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Matters, Comr. Sabo Muhammad, who was assisted by the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Education.
Speaking through the Special Assistant on Education Matters, the Deputy Governor assured teachers in all public schools across the state that such consideration will soon be extended to them. He further explained that the decision to start with the Special Schools is due to the fact that students from the 5 model Secondary Schools contributed about 80% of the success recorded in the number of students who passed WASSCE with 5+ credits including English and Mathematics.
